Camera Session Rates:
My rate for custom photography is $275 for a one hour camera session with you or your group. You can see an example of a 1 hour photo shoot and the variety of images that are possible in 1 hour here.
Half day and full day rate discounts are available. Please e-mail me to discuss your ideas and objectives.
What's Involved & What I Delivered in a Typical 1 Hour Camera Session:
Pre-Shoot Planning & Recommendations: Each camera session involves many variables and options that we will explore together to deliver the images that you are seeking.
First 50 km of Travel: All camera sessions include the first 50 km of travel at no cost. Additional kilometres of travel are charged at a cost of $1.00/km. My home base is downtown Calgary.
On Location Scouting Prior to Shoot: I will arrive at least 30 minutes before our scheduled session to scout locations and/or design lighting as needed. Prior to arriving, I will have previewed the location on Google Earth for options and Sun angles.
Camera Session: You are free to have multiple poses, outfits, people and animals in your photo session. Lets discuss what you want in our pre-planning discussions so that I can prepare and be the most efficient. I will also bring artificial lighting as needed. Typically, a one hour camera session will result in a minimum of 50 raw images.
Custom Image Processing: I shoot high resolution digital negatives that provide a wide latitude for creative expression. Each hour of camera session also includes 1 hour of my computer processing time to create the final edited images.
Photo Retouching: I provide basic photo retouching to your images that will remove distractions and enhance the look of your portrait or photograph. Typically, this may involve teeth whitening, brightening the eyes, softening the skin, adding hair hi-lights, reducing wrinkles... My goal is always a subtle enhancement.
Private Web Gallery: Each camera session includes the creation of a private Web Gallery where you can review and select your images.
Digital Image Files: I will supply you with the edited image print files and the edited image files for display on social media. The print files will not be watermarked. Typically, a one hour camera session will result in 10-25 edited images.
Lifetime Personal Use License: When you purchase the image files, you have also purchased the lifetime right to print and share the images and image files for your personal use. The images and image files can not be used for commercial purposes.
Recommendations for custom printing or framing: I can provide advice on professional printing or framing options if needed, and can even coordinate the printing and framing for you. Please e-mail for details.
How to Booking Your Photography Session
Step-1: E-mail me or phone me and lets discuss what your objectives and goals are for the photo shoot. With your input, I will design options and alternative for your consideration. E-MAIL AJ Baxter
Step 2: I will provide you with a detailed quote by e-mail for your consideration.
Step 3: If you wish to proceed, a deposit of 50% of the quoted total is required to confirm your specific time and date.
Step 4: After the photography shoot, you can view a private Web Gallery of the new images.
Step 5: Final payment of the remaining 50% of the quoted total of the shoot will give you access to download the finished image files.
Payment
All payments are by major credit card using secure PayPal as the portal. No cheques are accepted.
A deposit of 50% of the quoted total is required to confirm the date and time of the photo shoot.
The final 50% of the quoted total is required to download the image files.
Rescheduling of a Photography Session
You may reschedule a photography session up to 48 hours prior to the originally scheduled session date. Together we will mutually agree on a alternative date and time for the photography session.
The weather in Alberta is highly variable, if it’s too nasty we can reschedule. Some of the best light is during ‘unsettled’ and overcast days. My lighting system works well during these times.
I reserve the right to reschedule a photography session if outdoor photography conditions are unsafe or if travel conditions are unsafe. Together we will mutually agree on a alternative date and time for the photography session.
Cancelling a Photography Session
You can cancel your scheduled photography session up to 7 days prior to the shoot and receive a full refund of your deposit.
Cancellations less than 7 days prior to the scheduled photography session will result in a cancellation fee of 50% of the deposit.
Model Release
I require a standard Model Release the gives AJ Baxter Photography the irrevocable right to display the images for the purpose of promoting the business of AJ Baxter Photography in print and social media.
Your images will not be used for any other commercial purpose without your prior approval.
Image Copyright
When you purchase my image files, you have also purchased the lifetime right to print and share the images and image files for your personal use only. The images and image files can not be used for commercial purposes.
AJ Baxter retains all commercial copyright rights to the images.
